Christo is well-known and often misunderstood. He's the artist who wraps huge things in huge amounts of fabric. I used to work at an "electrical utility distributor" and we sold him several miles of copper cable in 1996. I was the only one in the office who had any idea who he was (office full of chew-spittin' rednecks). He sent us a beautiful hard-cover book with pictures of his work. Somebody else took it home, to my dismay. Here's a Salon article about him.
