Anecdotal Evidence

I like "incoherence." I mean, usually if I can wrap my head around something quickly, I lose interest (I'm talking about the Arts, here, people, not the lunch menu or an e-commerce Website). I like 'out' music, 'abstract' art, and those weird times when people behave totally unpredictably in public. Here's a great article about Language Poets, poets who write without regard for coherence or literal 'meaning.' Possibly even without regard for 'figurative meaning,' though that seems to be more a function of the reader than the writer. I've done some of this, but it really clashes with my training as a poet, so it's uncomfortable. Maybe that's why it's so fun...hmm...I'll think about this & come back to the topic another time. Great links to other articles/books on the subject, here, too.
