Lojban, an artificial language designed to test the Sapir-Whorf Hypothesis. Fascinating. The Hypothesis essentially posits that the qualities of a language have direct bearing on the strenghts and weaknesses of the culture - for example: English has no gender-neutral pronoun, thereby perpetuating a patriarchal world-view, something I've always suspected.
