I am grossed out by pomegranates because of the Surinam Toad, shown above. I read about this amphibian as a young lad, and was offered a pomegranate for the first time shortly thereafter. Icky thing to relate, mentally. Also inneresting (to boring people like Joseph): grenadine is from pomegranates. Also: when I was a lad I dreamt of being a herpetologist (nothing to do with herpes, really).
