I have an idea: Hey, Record Company jerks! To limit file-sharing, ELIMINATE CDDB!!. It really makes sense, I think. The arguments about why Napster, Freenet, etc. are a greater threat than, say, a cassette-deck, hinge on ease-of-use, velocity, and the ability to enable mass pirating. If I had to type in song titles, etc., by hand every time I ripped a CD, I'd be a lot less likely to share my massive 1300 disc CD collection on the Web.
