I just bought The Age of Suspicion, essays on the novel, by Nathalie Sarraute. I really like it so far (about 80pp), since she's such a bizarro prose stylist, I wasn't expecting such elegant cohesive thought in this volume. I also picked up this, about which I'm more than a little stoked - I've written formal verse before, as an exercise, but there are many styles I've never heard of & probably some that will be fun. [and since I shopped at Powell's, in downtown Portland, Oregon, I got them used, for less than $10 for the pair!]
