I read this when I was 12 or so, having found a hardbound copy of it in a rubbish heap near my house (at a school, of course). I knew who Pound was, having already been seduced by verse, but I wasn't prepared for it at all. At all. I still have the little hardbound copy, too, and must re-read it soon (now that I'm a grownup and have read some of the shit to which he refers).
