Jack Wright

Played music last night with the delightful/terrifying Jack Wright, Tom Djll, and Morgan Guberman. Very cool players and odd birds. Djll, in particular, knocked me out, doing things on the trumpet that 1) I wish I could do and 2) I can't steal because I have no idea how the hell he did them. He also had a pocket cornet (example below - idn't it cute?) and let me try it. I've been interested in one for a while & relished the chance to give it a test run. The music itself varied widely from loud to soft, fast to slow, etc., etc. Chris Cogburn, still visiting Portland, played drums. Very well, I might add. I'm glad we recorded the session and can't wait to hear the document.
