On Sunday went to the home of Sabur, a local poet and rastafarian. It was an irie gathering to be sure, and there was some spoken-word and some music. JP came too. The vibrational gravity of the gathering was amazing; so warm, so humble, such good food &c! Great conversation with Sabur and Sunborn centering on issues of spirituality, and strategies for subverting Babylon while recognizing the impossibility of exemption.
Later that evening I went with Bryan to hear Voltage Regulator, The Planet The and Rollerball. VR, featuring Oregon-coaster James Kosharek, were echoey and ambient. TPT were mathy and angst-ridden (and composed, not improvised, btw). TPT drove me away before Rollerball came on, sadly.
Last night JP and I went to Taylor Aglipay's house and played. Taylor is a nice, nice young tenor sax player who also plays electric guitar. His drum set was all tuned/new heads, etc. so sound was good.
