Poetry is a term used by artists I admire in very disparate fields, not just poets. Anthony Braxton said "I've become interested in the poetic logics in my music." Ingmar Bergman defined his film as "a poem in images" and said "For the interpretation, you can interpret it any way you like. As with any poem. Images mean different things to different people." I think Andrei Tarkovsky said something like that in his book, too, but my memory can't 'prove' it...[Tarkovsky, btw is one of the best poets of the century, in my book, speaking strictly visually...]
I saw Persona for the first time the other night & was knocked out. Damn fine moovy.
