I finally got to hear La légende d'Eer, by Iannis Xenakis, courtesy of Bill Ashline, and ws;ade98jhildlkjf;asdo9d0) just one listen was enough to recognize its importance - a;sdlkpdoi0d9fjkls.s.s. wow. Also, mucho Otomo Yoshihide [interview]. Tomorrow, when my ears are fresh again, I have Alan Silva And The Celestrial Communication Orchestra's Seasons to look forward to! Hot damn and thank you, Bill.
Last night's mini-+ i love music + was great. Small quiet audience and I played solo for something like 25 minutes. I worked my way through the first 5 subdivisions of old music and then skipped up to VIII & XI. I was a little jumpy, but I felt like I did a good enough job of it. At times I felt like I rwas really getting inside my horn, but my mind plays tricks on me, too. Also: I drank some wine, then late-night kalbi and chung-ah with Bill and Sunny, mmm.
Present were Alfred Harth and his countryman Oliver Griem, who currently happens to have an interactive video installation up at Total Museum so I'm going to check that out next weekend. Alfred seemed to enjoy the performance and, to my great pleasure, said it inspired him to present some house concerts in his garden next summer.
